Out of all of the cities and towns we've been to, I can easily tell Mecca is the most breathtaking. As we learned in other cities, Mecca is the pilgrimage site of Islam and the center in which people travel in order to fulfill their Muslim duties. ... lies in the middle of a dry desert. In fact, Mecca is in a very isolated location. For several to travel to Mecca, they have to pass the Empty Quarter, which is essentially a sea of sand. Because of it’s climate, Mecca does not have much to rely on agriculturally so its livelihood is completely dependent on trade. Through if this many Muslims and merchants flock to Mecca every year, I believe that it is going to be a thriving city for centuries to come.

... You have a 5 year marriage contract and then you decide whether to renew it or to move on. Pretty damn good idea I think and very easy to manage if there are no children involved. Anyways, they were renewing their vows and then having a small reception. It was a fun ceremony (not overly serious) and a good way to cap off Saudi Arabia!

... Thankfully my kids were all sleeping so I didn't have to refuse to let them go on the playground, the equipment in which is usually half broken down or scalding hot. Metal playground equipment may not be the ideal choice for a country with this climate.
