    ... So whilst my relationship with Japan has yielded many things for me I do not see myself living here long-term again in the near future. Liiiiitle bit of irony in there, but the realisation has been a long time coming! I'd just prefer to work within Aussie culture. And that's cool too.

    I'm sure I just think about all this cultural identity stuff way more than your average person, but I truly believe it is at the core of everything we experience. And how amazing is that?!

    ... we had our first snorkelling trip to the beach(!!). We all piled in cars and drove for 3-4 hours to the coast of a nearby prefecture (which was probably all of 150km away but you can't get anywhere quick in a car here, haha). We snorkelled during the day, drank in the evening, slept in an inn overnight, and onsen'd before our return home yesterday.
