Marc and I totally exhausted from three week trip with no breaks. From Marc's teaching, lecturing, hikes, and sight seeing we were beat. So Marc decided to take take off for Syl and Marc time and get grocery shopping in. Life is quite different in Tsukuba. ... Mitaka Station you can get the Local Bus to Studio Ghibli Museum. You can’t miss it, its bright yellow and painted like the title sequence to Totoro. It’s 200 a head single or 300 a head return. We just did the single as we planned to walk back through the attached park. You could see the Museum as you get close, first spotting the giant Totoro in the window and then the roof top garden with a Robot from Laputa on it. It was all very exciting. And busy!

We got to Minowa easily and stopped to have our lunch at the nearest bus stop as it was now quite late (around 2pm). There was a lady sitting there waiting for a bus and she started talking to us in Japanese. After a while I worked out that she was offering to buy us a drink from the local shop! How sweet!
