Tiruvannamalai was a very pleasant, interesting place. It has a beautiful Hindu temple and a very interesting temple to Ramana Maharshi. A whole community has sprung up here around Ramana Maharshi. It is sort of a new-age Western community (with an Indian community / pilgrammage-site also which I am less familiar with). They serve delicious, free meals. And free filtered water.
