... your head. There is a speaker blaring music 50cm from your head. There is no where to stand and stretch your legs. The bus has a hooter that sounds like a trumpeting elephant and is used all the time. There is no toilet. Travellers tip : do not eat a mutton curry before embarking on a 16 hour bus trip. There is nothing to do but lie there and count down the hours. Fortunately my travel buddy got off at about 1.30 so I had the bunk to myself.

... with a procedure turn - something I don't do often because US ATC usually gives me radar vectors to an ILS approach course. But it did give me a chance to do some flying, so I shut off the autopilot and manually (a bit sloppy at first) flew the full approach. When the approach lights came into view coming down the glideslope I was reminded I'm a pilot instead of just someone running an autopilot and talking on the radio.

... after the temple took great pleasure in pointing out: ‘Here is vun man and two vimmin, here is vun man and tree vimmin, here is tree men and vun vuman’ etc, etc. We weren’t allowed to see the lingam inside the temple which was a bit of a shame but lingams were a common sight and, apart from variation in size and colour, one lingam looks much the same as another so I wasn’t too disappointed.
