... it was so surreal to finally be there, standing in front of it. Anyways, it was something I will never forget.
I’m catching a train back to Delhi in a few hours and from there I’m heading to a town in the foothills of the Himalayas with Naved and Zeeshan. That will bring me to next Saturday and then I’ll be back in the States in time for the holidays.
Until next time...

... century. The main sites are the narrow streets of the bazaar, a Jain Temple, a giant Mosque that holds 25,000 people and the Red Fort, named for the red sandstone walls.
The Red Fort is massive. The walls extend more more than a mile and it is surrounded by a dried up mote. Inside the giant gate is a hall of shops where we bought a brass Genish - the god with an elephant head who is the "mover of obstacles". The entrance hall opens into a ...
... puzzle, we were on our way and eventually in Agra.
Dad and I decided to go to the Taj Mahal very early to try to avoid the thousands of tourists. After fending off every guide and rickshaw driver wanting a piece of us, we got to the Taj. (Dad and I have gotten very good at getting people off our backs. Our latest method is to pretend we are deaf and start signing at each other. The Indians get very confuse and eventually leave us alone ...

... we had seen the day before.
we got on the bus to sinouli later that morning, happy with our time in nepal, and slightly reluctant to leave.
the hotel manager in sinouli acted like he was not used to guests. not that i am surprised, sinouli is a horrible place. i am pretty sure the only reason there is anything there is because of the border crossing.
our room was fundamental to say the least; the shower didn't work, and there was no hot water anyway. the staff looked ...
... for the day. There was some confusion at the entrance and I ended up with another guide but he was awesome so I didn’t mind... and, as I found out later, the guide that was hired for me turned out to be horrible. This new guide walked with a cane but I could hardly keep up with him! Agra Fort is another of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The fort was home to several of the Mughal Emperors, serving as the capital for many years. It is most famous for ...
Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India mickeymo... artwork. We told him that we were not interested in buying anything (that should be a foreboding remark) in marble but decided to pay a visit to the shop. There are 4 young men working outside the marble shop. They are using fine grinding wheels that they power with a bow that they draw back and forth in one hand while the hold the stone to be ground in the other hand. The pieces are small and they are shaped by the grinding ...
