Arriving in the Netherlands

Arrived on time and bought a Dutch sim card for my phone. I'll be here for a while and lots of people to contact and it will be handy for transport apps to have a bit of data too. Then off to get a transport card for travelling on the trains and maybe buses too.

I found the right train with one change at Zwolle and then Rosa met me at Groningen train station.

It is great to be here and it is sunny and warm!

Today we drove over the famous Dike that was built to help drain The Netherlands. It uses special locks that uses the tide and allows water to leave but not enter. The dike is over 30 km long. Without the dike and lock system, Netherlands would loose 1/4 of their land ...

Went to a waterpark in Groningen today. It had a waterslide and I think we went down it fifty times! When we went grocery shopping we used these cool scanning things to add your things up as you shop. Every sauce in Holland seems to have mayonnaise in it.
