... Wherever you are in the town, the perfectly peaky volcano rises up ahead of you and is especially beautiful at night when the moon shines high above it. ... riding the extreme north east of Chile, as it suffers from the same bandit and trafficking problems as bordering Bolivia. That leaves only the main Pan Am road, which he considered too dangerous due to trucks and no shoulder. ... pleasantly warm in Puerto Varas and we were able to walk around comfortably with just a hoodie. We wandered around the centre looking for money exchanges (we need to get Argentinian Pesos before going back over the border again), but they were all closed. The supermarket was open though so we managed to buy some breakfast stuff and snacks.
