    ... any buses to Puerto Madryn until the following evening at 22h00, we realised that we were properly marooned. Thankfully we quite easily managed to find a hotel room for the night.

    There were no flights from Esquel to Puerto Madryn and hiring a car for that long distance on such short notice was apparently also not possible. The time had come to throw in the towel, cut our losses and abort our mission to Puerto Madryn.

    ... and to enjoy the view but not for long.... the moment we sat down we were surrounded by persistent black and orange insects the size of bubblebees. I tried running again but these stick like glue and in the end we grabbed our bags and ran back up the trail. Still not enough, it took us about 15 minutes to get rid of the insects by which time we were half way back to the bus stop. At this point we were not feeling very positive about the stupid lake.
