... After lunch, we were treated to a tour of the village by some of the local students. They took us to a school, a church and the national parks office. The talked to us about the conservation efforts in the park and some of the obstacles in this part of Asia. Upon returning to the resort, the kids had an initiation to open water divers by having a coke poured down a snorkel and chugging it. This ...

That evening we went to Macdonalds. All that unhealthy salt and fat was delicious after eating so many rice, fish and fruit based meals for three weeks. It's weird how little things like that can make you happy. The streets of Manado are absolutely filthy and we saw a few rats scuttling about, we haven't seen ...

... We had to pack the room out and head down to the eating area well before 0700 in order to meet the boat I'd arranged to for us to see dolphins on, and that would continue on to the port in Manado. Mey, Lia, and the cooks served up some very fancy rice, egg, and papaya plates for us. We were surprised to see Guillermo and Ruben already awake, ready to send us off on our journey. As 0700 came and went, however, Ameen and I began to wonder what had happened ...
