Jen finding it hard to cope with all the Rollmops (pickled herring) and smoked fish, but to me it smells just great. Bed early, big day planned for tomorrow. 4.10.14 Insel Rugen Up at a reasonable hour today and had a nice breakfast. Then made our way to the chalk cliffs of the Jasmund National Park. It was clearly a beach resort with a boardwalk and kiosks and playgrounds. But just across the river was East Germany and the beach contained only a fence with guard towers. Today the guard towers are gone and in their place is a park, a marina, and a hotel. While still somewhat undeveloped, it is a much more pleasant view!
