... is 3,883 metres or 12,739 feet high and this year on August 15th is the 150th anniversary of its first ascent. Every night at 9.30, 10.00 and 10.30pm skiers have been lighting different ski paths up the Matterhorn and it looks beautiful. We are so proud of ourselves for making the trek up the mountain and actually walking outside AND taking some of the most amazing photos. We hope you enjoy them! :) Early dinner tonight at the hotel, pack and very early start ...

On the way to Zermatt we came across the castle used as inspiration in the Harry Potter movies. Look at the photo attached. Both of us had surprisingly good pasta, some of the best ever. After lunch the next mission was to find where ...

... to the steep inclines. The views on the last train to Zermatt were nothing short of spectacular. Truly amazing the scale of the alps/mountains. Luckily we received good weather in Zermatt as it was predicted to be thunderstorms. The car free resort town is bigger than we thought but absolutely stunning. We can see the Matterhorn from outside our hotel (we had to change rooms from one with a Matterhorn view as we brought our trip forward 2 days when ...

... were scaling the glacier covered Breithorn. Below us, people were skiing at Plateau Roso on the Theodul Gletscher. After taking in the views and talking to a couple from Sydney, the four of us headed down 45 meters into the Glacier PAradise. We walked through a glacier! It was freezing to say the least, especially since I was wearing shorts and a t-shirt. It was wunderbar! There were carvings, sculptures and even a tunnel you could slide through ...
