Having not met anyone else in my hostel, I went out to celebrate New Years Eve on my own. Now in the Asian mood, I treated myself to very expensive take out Chinese food (Being New Years, all the restaurants had been booked long ago). ... in Europe. One of them had her mother visiting for the Xmas period and strangely they shared the same single bed. I'm not sure if the staff knew mum was actually in the building but there was a spare bunk in the room which she never used. They would start out sleeping the same way and end up head to toe. I just found this really strange.
On my last morning I was up early, was the first for breakfast and headed out for station to catch the train to Florence via Milan.
... was like "I want to go in here, no wait that shop looks cool - I want to go in that shop as well", and it's like this never ending of being amazed by all the cool things around. The buildings are old and beautiful in themselves..I could live here. This truly is the heart of Switzerland.
We come to the famous Old Clock Tower.

... a great idea because this food is really heavy. It was delicious and I really enjoyed it, but there is no way I would ever eat a whole one on my own. So, I have officially tried the three main Swiss dishes- racelette, fondue, and roschti....all of which sit in your stomach like lead but are quite delicious (except for the fondue here which is only made with Gruyere cheese which I'm not too crazy about.)
