... promenade and it was 6.30 pm but still very hot. We weren't impressed with this town. Very commercialised with lots of ugly accommodation for the tourists and dirty streets in just behind the sea. We enjoyed our bike ride with the cooler ocean breeze and headed back to make dinner at around 8pm. Now I know why they have dinner so late. Its too hot to eat any sooner. Just one night here and tomorrow we are back in France and heading for ...

After turning on to quiet side roads, we experienced fields of sunflowers among other things with the Pyrenees off in the distance to the north as a backdrop. Very pleasant riding all the way to Girona, even after Dave & Linda pulled away from me and I was riding on my own for a while to the end.

Unfortunately the vet in Argeles-sur-Mer ...

This was our last day of serious climbing and we have now dipped wheels and deposited Atlantic stones in the Meditarranean. It was a gorgeous day, and we set off as a group of five, Peter, who is feeling much better, Lori, Steve, Gilles and I. The major climb took us to the Col de Palomere at 1036 m. Thankfully it was not a steep climb - I would guess between 5 and 7%, which is a good thing because I could barely manage that. I had done my math and was convinced that I had another ...
