... t speak any english so I decided to chance it and walked down to the bus platforms. There was only one bus at the station and it was going to Pilsen. I jumped on and paid the driver.

    • When I arrived I walked to my hotel and checked in. I was sick of backpackers and hostels hence the hotel.
    • I relaxed for a while in my room and then walked to the Pilsner Urquell brewery for the 2.15 english tour. I ended up taking a wrong turn on the way but ...

... is done, and yup, it was cold. After the tour we went to dinner at the brewery restaurant. I had beef filet roasted in Pilsner and sausage. We sat with two gentlemen from Romania - that was very interesting! I slept the whole way back and it was very late when we returned- which is why this post is so late!

Pilsner Urquell has been brewed at this same brewery since 1842, and they say the Pilsen lager inspired more than 2/3 of the world’s pilsner labelled beers. Thank you Pilsen! The best part of the tour was at the end where we tasted unfiltered and non-pasteurised Pilsner Urquell beer tapped straight from the oak lager barrels. Ahhhhhhhh!

... taking the stairs down... I wish we would have taken them up in the first place).

We took in the views from the top of the hill and strolled through the gardens. There was not much to see in the gardens because everything was winterfied and bundled up. We made our way over to the lookout tower that looked like the Eiffel tower. We were going to go up the tower but they charged a rediculous amount to enter the observation room and you had to pay extra to use ...

... I then went through the brewery museum. It was pretty interesting. It has the only remaining section of the old city walls. There is a scale model of the brewery there which is actually a working brewery which can produce 30L of beer. It took the guy 18 years to build. I'm now sitting in the bar/restaurant adjoining the museum having an unfiltered and unpasteurised Pilsner Urquell. Apparently this is the only place it is sold. It's ...
