      ... left late & ate up 14 mins. So we only had 2 mins to make the connection. Believe me it was just like in amazing race, as we made the 100 yard dash, at a sprinters pace to make the connection. Marilyn was about 30 yards behind as I got to the train. She was worried that I was going to leave her behind. Would I do that?

      ... a bit out of the way for getting to Salzburg but many pretty scenes, houses and mountains were evident on the road there. This little town is very pretty indeed – high, snowy mountains and a great big lake. Plenty of pretty little houses also.       ... reason Eagles Nest was preserved was that it was under Allied control until 1952 and a German official decided that it could be used to generate tourism for the area. As a result, all of Eagle's Nest is as it was when the Allies took over. The elevator was something else covered completely from floor to ceiling in brass. There was even an old clock and telephone dating to the early 1940s.

      ... of the drive began in a valley only about 30 minutes south of Zell am See, where we were staying Our view at first was just tree-covered mountains with a couple of snow-capped peaks in the distance.
