Tomorrow I still have the 100 miles or so from Newcastle to my home in Edinburgh to which somehow I just cannot be bothered with. i feel like getting off the ferry and just finding a hotel and sleeping for a few days as I am knackered.

And that's it for now. its now almost 2am and we are rocking gently in the rough seas as we make our way to Newcastle.

... and being back at the beach reminded me of home. The street was colourful with national flags of all different countries but no kiwi one :( and the beach clubs were nice although a little pricey for drinks. On the first night I actually got to play touch with a rugby team who was training next to the beach club! But the lungs were a bit heavy after 5 or soo beers but that was fun to play touch again :) Overall the hostel was awesome ...

... lots of shopping. I'm really excited to explore this place. My hostel is the best! Young people running it, young people staying here. I went for a walk when I first arrived and got a burrito and sat in a nice park and ate. Beautiful weather. When I got back to the hostel I went out the back where there is a pool table and table tennis table ...

... from the zoo! I have found out that the Netherlands is one of the only countries that protested against the treatment of the Jews by the Germans during the war! Back on the tram, which has been a great way to get around the city. We got onto a canal cruise which went for an hour and was a good way to see the city off your feet, only down side was having to sit by an American teenager who moaned about everything to her poor mother. That night we hunted down an ...

When I was in Amsterdam last September I bought a museums pass, valid for one year. It had already paid for itself by the end of that trip, and on this trip I got even more benefit from it. I visited a total of 16 venues on the two visits. Just wandering the streets is enjoyable, admiring the narrow buildings and their gable stones and the canals that encircle the old centre. I took lots of photos of gable stones and fašades.
