The tiny stairs are built for little feet. They wind up 3 floors to our apartment. I have no idea how Mark managed to get all of our luggage up here. I think we owe him something! A modern little haven high up. We have 2 bedrooms, with ours up another spiral staircase to a little loft. It is modern and warm as toast - floor heating, wood fired warmth from the fire downstairs and all the mod cons we could hope for....nespresso, washer, everything to cook with, ...

Shortly after we left this morning we were in the Netherland's, which means low land. A population of 18 million with only 800 000 in Amsterdam and over 1 million bikes. It takes 2 hours to drive east to west and 4 hours north to south. Amsterdam is the capital and the country is made up of 12 provinces. I had pea soup, pepper veal and pancakes and Mitch had ham and goats cheese plate, smoked salmon and pancakes as well. All traditional Dutch food and a ...

Another tip from our booking agent was to head upstairs at the end of the tour, €8.50 gets you a beer and a burger and also one of the highest views in Amsterdam, not having had lunch the burger was perfect and being the only people up there the staff were more than willing to offer us a locals perspective on Amsterdam as well as keeping our cups very full ...

... that I could identify which ones were painted in a Zhostovo style. I got a beautiful 10 piece doll finished in a blue and white floral style that made it look like mock Delft.
From Dam Square, we went to Westermarkt and walked to Westerkerk. As we walked, we passed the line to the Anne Frank House. It is almost impossible to get in there. People stood in line for well over 3 hours to get in there. Westerkerk is just around the corner from the Anne ...
