... and he showed us where another one was. Then on to another chateau.
The Chenonceau chateau is the most popular chateau in the area. It is built over the river Cher and has some beautiful gardens around it. Very nice. After that we checked in to our hotel. Later a trip downtown for some dinner.
Tomorrow, two more chateaus and then we head farther south.

... Chambord chateaux I was amazed with the size, architecture and to think this was built in the 1500s as a hunting lodge. I found it mind boggling. Began the day in the market at Loches. Anne bought a purse and I bought some sox, a watch and some food. The watch for just 10 Euro, so hope it works. Travelled about 20km to the very historical and quaint town of Amboise. Nestled between the river and the castle it has little room to breathe and there is still evidence of people living in the caves of the hill below Amboise Chateaux. The chateaux itself has heaps ...

A quiet morning before checking out of the hotel. Anne has now mastered the GPS and after our convoluted journey on Sunday decide to get to Loche as quickly as we can. Our journey is mostly on toll roads which cost us nearly 20 euros but we arrive in 4 hours which makes it all worthwhile. Loches is a beautiful little town with tiny narrow streets. ...
