Another long bus ride, but the lovely green scenery made the time pass quickly. The bus company i used this time is punctual, and arrives on time.

I am impressed at what i see, and the more i explore the more impressed i am. It is a very low rise city due to the weakness of the subsoil. The ...

It's 11.30 pm, and Amr is already asleep next to me, but must write up today before I forget. We woke this morning, a cloudless perfect morning, as was predicted, and suddenly found life was good, and we could cope with a city and people and traffic and cyclists....thank goodness. It WAS good to take as long as we wanted in the morning, and not have to be all packed up and bags ready by 8 am. And when we set off, we found that Bordeaux is a fabulous city! We packed ...

... Rothschild was served. My immature pallet was not able to appreciate the quality – one needs years of experience to truly appreciate such wines – but I remember thinking as I sipped, that the glass of wine no doubt cost more than I made in a week, and probably more…. I’ve had occasion to taste some outstanding wines every so often since then, some excellent Bordeaux and Burgundies among others, and for those who can appreciate them, they ...

... was keen to see, so might try to and walk over there tomorrow morning before catching up with Jim for lunch.

Speaking of lunch, I found a place called Jamon Jamon on Yelp which had good reviews and used the GPS map in the app to guide me there. It was quite close to the drop off point at 2 Rue Louis Combes just off rue l'Intendents. I ordered the Mixte plate which comprised Jamon bellota aged for 24 months, some salami and another type of cold cut, plus some thin slices ...
