      ... across to La Sauve Majeure To see another abbey. This has some interesting carvings which will also disappear from the ruins. We climbed the 157 steps up the spiral staircase up the tower. When we were coming down there was an exciting bit when we met people coming up with a baby & a back pack all on a very narrow staircase.
