... dedicated chefs wearing chefs' outfits and it's absolutely delicious. I've been into town on a local bus for lunch and a wander round. I would have walked the 4km but it's raining, as it has been for all but 10 days in the past 3 months, according to the driver who picked me up at the airport. I told him I've brought 2 sets of waterproofs and a brolly so that should guarantee the rain ...

It does not take long to travel Slovenia as it is only about the same size as Wales. Still we are doing it in two halves; the west coast before Croatia and the east afterwards. I had organised a small tour, so our guide gave us plenty of information about Slovenia's history. They are still recovering from their last war which was only in 1991 between Bosnia and Serbia , Yugoslavia....under the reign of communist leader Tito. Our tour guide was a young girl about 28 years of age(who had been studying historic architecture and ...

We made an unexpected stop in the capital of Slovenia, a charming little city of 300,000. I was pooped after our walk thru the Skocjan cavern and was surprised to be unceremoniously hustled off the bus and left in a very foreign city with little preparation! (it is pathetic how dependent we've become on Honza's guidance!) The buildings we walked past were pretty ...
