This morning we drove through Slovenia's only National Park. The park covers a few mountains near the Slovenia, Italy, and Austria borders. The road over the mountain contains 50 switchbacks/hairpin turns; that doesn't count other turns, just the severe ones! Grant, had the pleasure of driving with other drivers who like to use both lanes, along with motorcycles, ...

Fortunately, Laura was quick, and soon we were ...

I decided I had misheard her, particularly when we parked our horses up in a shadowy copse and then wandered over to a bar. At this point, I did think I had completely misunderstood and we were instead having a mid-morning beer, not bear.

... of the lake which had been sectioned off specifically for swimming. Although Mattijs was keen, I didn’t fancy swimming just randomly, considering some of the so far unidentified humungous black fish we’d seen lurking on the bottom…!

Needless to say, Mattijs was in the water like a shot but having dipped my toe in, I initially decided it was too cold for a swim. It was lovely having a brief sunbathe on the lakeside but ...
