... steps, narrow streets admiring mosques, shrines, shophouses and clan houses, most notably, the Khoo Kongsi. We chanced upon an amazing small coffeeshop called Hand Brew Cafe where they sell Kopi Loemak (if you don't know what that is, google it, because I'm not telling).

Our son Anthony and his girlfriend Ruzel from LA arrived for a visit and together with new found friends and fellow foodies, Betchay, John and their amazing kids, we had ...

Paradise Found

Some of the highlights were Fried Kway Teow, Wan Ton Mee (F.K.T yeah Wan Ton Mee!), Hokkien Mee, Roti Canai, Asam Laksa and pretty much everything you could order from Woodlands (a vegetarian Indian restaurant) even if we couldn't quite figure out how to mix the Masala tea!

... plain and simple. Apparently St. George's church had been bombed during the war and had been rebuilt. We walked pass the City and Town Halls until we reached the Esplanade and Fort Corwallis . Unfortunately we paid to go into the fort and were not impressed as there was little to see inside . we left the fort and walked passed the Queen Victorian Memorial Clock tower that was built in 1897 and is 60 feet high. each foot representing a ...
