... tea fields would be much fun in the rain, at least not alone. I also feel like I didn't get the most out of Georgetown, I had high expectations of it from hearing other people talk about it, but staying in a quiet hostel and not being with the same people for more than a day meant that I spent a lot of my time there alone so got a bit bored. Guess it means I'll have to go back one day to experience Malaysia properly, what a shame!

... know that we arrived safely in Phuket. No wifi in the room so have writing this while we have breakfast in the non air conditioned restaurant. Very humid. Our room is lovely, balcony overlooking the pool and beach will include photos if I can. Phuket reminds me of Penang in our day, very primitive.

... had been very busy cooking for 40 people - huh? What 40 people, it was 7:30am? I told them again that I was soon to get the boat but they didn't seem to care too much. By the time my food came I literally had to scoff it down really quickly, pay the bill, grab my bags from back in my room and head back to where the boat was going to pick me up. Typically the boat was 15mins late so in the end I didn't need to rush - these things happen over here so you just have to go with the flow.

... before heading to a new life in Penang. Lucky does not begin to cover it, we know how fortunate we are and life here is turning out very nicely indeed!

So five years on and our Chinese is still terrible, Tania's hair did re-grow, Steve's didn't and we now start work on Saturdays and Sunday at 8 am as screaming children demand entertaining education. We are still making more travel plans, Burma is up soon and as it is one of our days off each week, we still love Mondays!
