... and later, to power factories. The use of water for sanitation is likely why Saltzburg was one of the few towns in Austria to avoid the Plague. That evening we dined at a traditional Austrian restaurant, Zirkelwurt. Deb had goulash soup which was quite thick and spicy (quite different from the Hungarian Goulash soup she had in Budapest) and Jack had a plate of goulash and salad. Hitler didn't actually like the place much so there wasn't heaps of history but the 360 views were amazing and I did a little exploring in the rocks. Not too cold as I was still in shorts, but very pleasant.

Well... this was it. My final day of singing in Salzburg.

After German class, I met with my opera director from school, Marie-Louise, just outside the college. I was so thrilled to be able to meet with her while abroad; she is staying in Munich and it was a manageable train ride from there to here. When we found each other, I took her to an Austrian restaurant I had visited before and we had a lovely time catching up. When finished, I needed to get ...
