I'm actually typing this between Prague and Brno, but I will change buses a Brno, and head towards Vienna from there...
I love internet on buses, but this one isn't that great, and cuts out pretty often...
I'll bein Vienna around 3:30pm this afternoon
word.
The queue for tickets snaked out of the door. We seemed to be behind a German biker gang, all keen to see the caves too. The cable car down to the entrance drops precipitously. It is far scarier than the one in Zakopane, because it is so steep.
We had to wait for the tour to start. I bought Mel a green adventurine elephant for his collection. I also worked out why Eartha has started ...
There was time to kill before our tour of the cave. There are a number of caves in the area with different attributes. One has fine stalagnates, another a collection of cave bear skeletons and a third some evidence of habitation. I would like to see them all, one day, but I could imagine the youngest kids' response to more than one cave viewing in a day.
Instead we went to a small windmill in Rudice, which served as a tiny museum. It was pleasing to the eye from the ...
... in the catacombs. One preserved body was that of a little girl dressed in a shiny dress of sequins and beads, and the expression on her face still gives me goose bumps. We managed to sneak into the catacombs right before closing, but had to leave quite quickly because the last thing we wanted to do was get stuck overnight in a basement with dead monks. At this point in the day we were tired and hungry and decided to just ...
Brno, Moravia, Czech Republic durnadupa... salt shaker of life is sending us back where we came from. I don't have just one words that expresses where I'm in regards to this whole thing. I am excited about coming home, but this has been home for 4 months and so many experiences. It's going to be weird to be back home. I'm really glad Kashion and Sarah will both be at O-State. At least I will have a couple of people to reminisce with. I can't wait to see Lauren and my friends, and of course ...
Brno, Czech Republic jneilosu... okay, a little superficial perhaps, but the architecture here beats the **** out of ours. Every city we go to is amazing. 4. Cheap, good beer- At least in the Czech. It's the best in the world and costs a buck at a restaurant/bar. Sorry, I am a college guy, so this makes the list. there are more to come, but I haven't written them down, so I'll update as I remember, which will most likely happen this weekend, because most come out of frustration during travel!
Brno, Czech Republic jneilosu... to class, so I will spend the rest of the afternoon visiting Brno and meeting with Anna (HC:anizka). She is a cool girl, as I was her first encounter with HC I think she was a bit stress to know what would happen. :D I guess the fact that I was slightly ill and not to keen on turning long around before making a decision made thing easier, after a walk in the city and a stop at the computer class at university, we ended up having ...
Brno, Czech Republic maplefanta... while Ross enlightened me about all the factories and what they do, as well as the economic situation, both past and current, in Ostrava, and going to the bunkers (a defense system surrounding the Czech Republic, built between WWI and WWII). The bunkers are fortresses of varying sizes, built about every 250 yards apart with gun turrets and the works. It was an excellent real-life look at an aspect of the famous war which really wasn't that long ago. I wish the ...
Olomouc, Czech Republic buchta... write more. There are a few places that have air conditioning here, but not the dorms unfortunately. Some places claim to have air conditioning but it doesn't feel like it (the classrooms). There is a breeze today which is great unless you're indoors like I am now. The British guy Simon is quite amusing at times. All the British people are so British. For example, they say they're feeling "peckish" when they're a little hungry. Doesn't sound good to me. But whatever, as ...
Olomouc, Czech Republic buchta... my bikini, grab the tube and walk to the starting point. I float around, go down a rapid, go under a bridge, go down a second rapid, and almost miss the end point. If I miss the end point I float on to the next village about an hour away and have to walk back barefoot, which is no good. I make a valiant effort to reach the quay and succeed, just barely, to get back to my starting point to grab my flipflops and towel. But then I think, if once was fun why not go again? So I get ...
