... cargo vessels. We also passed the Costa Concordia being slowly taken apart in a remote corner of the harbour. There are a large number of palaces and many grand architectural building, set on a host of hills around the city. In contrast there are numerous narrow alleyways between four storey buildings, which open onto small squares where there is usually a bar or cafe.

Nevertheless, we will be happy to move on to the lakes tomorrow.

We found ourselves in Genoa today. We did a hop on hop off double decker bus ride. We found out this is where Christopher Columbus is from and saw many monuments for him and his house!
Sophie saw something that she thought she might take up as a living: at a busy intersection on red lights a guy came out and did an amazing juggling act with battons then ran up to all the cars with a hat for €! Would be ok if she could juggle!?!

... really tasty. The jenga game turned a bit into making fun of each other's nationalities. Fun times had by all. Oh and some sausage, cheese, homemade bread by Boston came out, mmm. Had some Genoa sausage in Genoa. They also had the amazing idea of putting pesto on the bread with the cheese. Oh ya def will adopt that! ... is reputed to be the ruins of Columbus's house. From here we went to the Piazza De Ferrari where we had a light lunch and then admired the buildings around the square. ... in my space!! :) Spoiled girl that is used to her own place. Oh well. As I write this I am waiting for lunch and my laundry. It's a beautiful day out with a cool breeze and bright sun. There hasn't been a drop of rain since I got here. This weekend we are thinking of going to the Burgundy or Bordeaux region of France. A larger group is headed to Monte Carlo and Nice.
