... and departing for Monza from here last Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday! Today, we continue our travels in Italy and head north to Como! Except for a little confusion just prior to our trains departure, the last three coaches needed to be empty but no TrenItalia staff informed the passengers until the last minute. So, we all had to quickly move to other coaches closer to the front. But, we departed on time, 13:10 hrs and arrived in Como on time at 13:46 hrs. Only ...

... days in there. They even had an entire submarine on display left our little Motat for dead I am afraid.

Found an amazing organic restaurant for lunch then on to see the ancient Roman Colonnade. This is in front of the Basilica di San Lorenzo and one of the few remaining Roman structures still standing in Milan.

Had another look at the Duomo on the way back for our train home for our last night in Como before we head off for Stuttgart.

    ... building is absolutely massive.

We made our way through the old centre towards the Duomo & stumbled on the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II a very swish mall with a soaring vaulted glass roof. Gordon had some fun in there at the Mercedes store. Then on to the Duomo - the third largest church in the world apparently & kind of hard to believe they get much bigger than this. Didn't see much point in trying to take photos as it ...

And the alarm was going off early, again. We had to meet the apartment owner to get our deposit back, catch two Metro lines to the main train station, and be on the train before it left at 07:00. Today we head to Arona, Italy, under the advice of a cheesemonger, named Davide that we met in San Francisco. "If you're ever in Italy, come visit us!" Okay cool, here we come! The train was in excellent condition, and we moved swiftly through the ...
