So............our mates have returned to Blighty to resume normal life. Ferry back for us in a week or so, we are wending our way north - soaking up good things. France is full of good things.......a superb country - oft over-looked by English folk. It's different here away from the high mountains......but stunningly beautiful........and hilly if you ride a bike!

And my old family friend Aunty Barbara delivers 2nd to none hospitality!!

... were amazing, filled with stalactites and huge high ceilings and these awesome disc formations. Everything was damp and beautiful. Most interesting though were the drawings; 30,000 years old but fairly complex and accurate representations of animals of the time. The drawings were also all a bit abstract, which was really interesting considering how ancient they were and our conception of our ancestors' cognitive abilities. The tour lasted an hour ...

We woke up fairly early again (now usual) and had breakfast and got ready. Tony wanted to take us to the Figeac market today, so we tried to get into town before 11.
