... of an assumption. But one of the most interesting things that I learned about Italy was that so many of their cities/towns had squares throughout them. That when they were building these communities they purposely built them around these squares (piazzas) so that they had a common place to meet with their neighbors. Since Meg picked great areas to stay that were often in the midst of where locals lived, we saw these everywhere, and often filled with people meeting, ...

Big bathrooms. Even the most "luxurious" place we stayed (in Alba) had a relatively small shower. I can't wait to shave my legs in comfort again.

    I didn't need those jeans...

I also realized I had too many clothes packed/planned. The original idea was to do laundry and have 5-6 changes of clothing to wear. Except I ended up with 10 shirts, 3 shorts, 1 pair of jeans, 3 skirts, and 2 dresses. Too much.

Over the weekend we started the challenging job of packing for our 3 week vacation in multiple climates. Add to that the airline restrictions and it becomes a major puzzle. To play it safe we are taking 3 checked bags. Never done that before. Fortunately the airline allows us each 2 bags so we are good to go.

We're just about done however and we are ready (and excited) to go. Tomorrow ...
