... bracelets. I loved that family! Sally and I are going to email each other because she wants to practice her English :)
I love that I have 20 new families around the world. I hope we all keep in touch!
So now I'm in Uppsala, Sweden. Major college town! I'm rooming with Aubrey (AZ) and Lise (France). Our host sister is a college student named Hanna. We live in her corridor with 8 of her friends :) It's awesome! It's like one ...
... of these fish recipes from her before I forget). Yesterday we drove around Siljansjö, which is a large lake and then checked out the town of Mora and went to a Dalicarlian wooden horse factory. Most of the rest of the time we've been hiking around the area and enjoying scrumptious pastries. So soon my journey will be coming to a close as I return to NY. I hope you all enjoyed my travel blog!
Leksand, Swedish Lakeland, Sweden danwstephens... was considering hosting me my first time round in Sweden. I met Tamara and her friends Isabelle and Angela. They were all really nice, and they all spoke English very well. First we did some pre-drinking in the park, while meeting a ton of people whose names I cannot remember. From here we went to a local pub, all saints, and did a little drinking before I caught the bus home. It was a really fun night, I ...
Gävle, Gävleborgs Län, Sweden mcphailcI woke up extremely early this morning, to see the Sjökvists off as they left on their trip. I was under the impression that they wouldn't be getting back untill after I had left to go home, so I thought that this was going to be the last time that I saw them for a while. I was understandibly very sad, but after they left it was still quite early so I decided to go back to sleep for a few hours before decided what my plan for the day would be.
After waking up a ...
... I thought was wrong was Greyback, he didn't quite seem as crazy or as animal like as I imagined. There were a couple things tha they added, and a major thing that they took out. I was very surprised to see that they cut the funeral scene out of the end, it was one of the best passages of the book. I did read that they were planning on putting it at the beginning of the seventh movie, and that seems like it could work. At first I thought the movie was reall missing something because of ...
Gävle, Gävleborgs Län, Sweden mcphailc... floor of restaraunts, a duty free shop, a movie theatre, and a disco. It seemed like there were endless things to do, and many different options for eating. Once we dumped our stuff in our (small small) cabin, Sofie and I decided to go explore and find something to eat. Upon closer inspection we saw that maybe there weren't as many places to eat as we initially though. All of the restaraunts were extremely expensive, featuring food that wasn't really ...
Gävle, Gävleborgs Län, Sweden mcphailcToday was more of a relaxing day, just spent getting over jet lag and re-associating myself with my surroundings. I decided that I should take some time for some shopping and wandered over to the mall. For the size of the town, Valbo has an amazing mall. Tons of different options for shopping, and just happening to be there during summer sale season was pretty awesome. I think that I probably came across as a little too happy to people working and other shoppers ...
Gävle, Gävleborgs Län, Sweden mcphailc... the engine of a boat to a dirt bike. It was fun being in there. We left Hasse's house, slightly disappointed for not being able to take the bikes with us and decided to stop at a food store. After all the only way to cheer yourself up is to buy food! It works for me! After spending a rather large amount of money on food, we then left this part of the country on our camping adventure Due North on highway E4. The route that we took on that day took us to ...
Gävle, Sweden samira_steveAfter travelling around in Sweden for the past week I returned to Uppsala and unwound at the "Snerkes" student nation. Student nations are pretty much like American Fraterneties or Sororities, except operate somewhat more like bar/restaurant/clubs than living quarters. The evening got off to a slow start after stuffing myself with crayfish again for dinner (notice a pattern here?) and being stuff downstairs at the nation ...
Uppsala, Sweden danwstephens... in Poland enabled me to survive these Scandinivians with less than Slavic livers. And as it seems with most Swedish parties things start out super well organized and then 1/2 way into the party things get a little rowdy and disorganized and well the rest stays in sweden let's say... The crayfish was fantastic. I think I consumed over 1 kg and then washed it down with somemore ...
