... here, walked inside the Palazzo della Signoria and saw a couple of courtyards, but didn't see the museum as it was late in the day and I will want to not rush through. After this strolled on down to the Arno River after passing through the portico of the Uffizzi Gallery, beautiful area to go through and then to see the river and Ponte Vecchio off to the right is fantastic. Amazing how strong that bridge must be to hold up those shops and living quarters ...

... the greatest gallery of Renaissance art on earth (maybe written by an Italian?). Truly we passed by works of Botticelli, Michelangelo, Raphael and Leonardo da Vinci and if our minds would have done it could also have taken in works by Titian, Caravaggio and Rembrandt.

One year while I was at UBC I took the History of Art and today like emerging shadows out of the past all the pieces we had studied were hanging in front of me.

... recommended a gelato place to us (it was amazing) and the best place to get Florentine steak in Florence. It was delicious, all 1 kg of it!!! (We shared it...) We also went to the Uffizi Gallery today and saw some amazing sculptures and paintings. Definitely worth the visit. We managed to stay up past 9:30 pm tonight, which is great... I think the jet lag has worn off! Tomorrow is our winery tour, which we are definitely looking forward ...
