... BUT great fun day! We went to Salzburg. It is very artistic,beautiful and individual city. We took lots of pictures and went in lots of churches also shops it has been a great day I would love to do it again!!!!!!!!!! Daddy It was an early start to the day. ... gardens were the only thing immaculately finished in the 7 years that the palace was under construction before running out of cash. The two large fountains either side of the garden portray classical figures and are quite amazing. Thankfully we joined the last tour of the day at 5:10pm although we did get a German bogan along for the ride, who enjoyed complaining about seemingly everything; not very German indeed!

... of the hut and lake, and they would not move a muscle to get out of peoples' pictures. So inconsiderate! I'll get off my soapbox now. After we were done at Obersee, we headed back to catch a boat back to the main land. For the remainder of our day we planned to go and see the Eagle's Nest, which was about a 5-10 minute drive from Königssee.

Originally built in the 1600's as a riding school, the Nazis turned it into a Festival Hall & is known for where the Von Trapps performed "So long, Farewell" and where Captain Von Trapp sings "Edelweiss". The building is actually carved right out of the mountain & is instantly recognizable from the movie.
