We woke from our kind of sleep to stunning views from the windows as the train neared Villach and the Austrian Alps. We had realised that we were close to the Rosental valley, so decided that we should have a quick explore before finding a campsite with the aim of finding some tacky Rosental souvenir. I arrived saturday evening, and sunday I went for a discovery walk. To the tourist information bureau, I needed a map with the possible hikes in ...

Spectacular mountain views from the top of the Reisseckbahn. First take a three stage cable driven trains up an incredibly steep slope following a hydroelectric dam pipeline, then a tiny train through a tunnel under the mountain. Lots of walks and restaurants at the top. Remnants of melting snow left here and there in hot sunny ...

Today was time for Tim to go back home and for us to carry on moving but as we didn't have to be out of the campsite until one we weren't in much of a hurry. Tim and Ruby finished working on the song that was with yesterday's blog and we got a bit of the van organised. It was a hot morning so we decided a swim was in order and on the way we bumped into Mrs Roger (never did catch her name) who was one half of the kiwi couple who we saw ...
