    ... mountains. The water of the Soca River is bright turquoise and absolutely beautiful! The town we are in tonight, Bovec, is very small. The apartment is nothing to get excited about, but it's only 1 night and it's relatively inexpensive! We have loved every minute of our travels in Slovenia. Tomorrow we will drive through the country's only national park, which has 50 hairpin turns...something tells me that will be both exciting and ...

    As regards our Romanian holiday we have booked our accommodation, a real mixture of smart(ish) hotels, wayside B&Bs and self catering. We have the outline of a route-around 4000 kms in total taking us over the Transalpina and the Transfagarasan via a few castles all the way to the Danube Delta on the Black Sea and back via the Iron Gate Gorge,Belgrade and Zargreb.

    Slice of heaven A white swan swims up to me, hoping for a hand out, as I sit on the edge of the Soca River. Surrounded by mountains I think to myself how can such a beautiful place exist.
