... or just has the same name... The drive up it was pretty crazy, it was a little bendy road up the side of the mountain. It went past a waterfall which was mostly frozen over and was very impressive. We also took a gondola there to the top of the mountain from where we were practicing but we didn't ski down because it looked very steep! We have our rental stuff for another day so I think we are going up another slope tomorrow to give that a shot.

Finally I arrive into the wonderful town of Heiligenblut. This town is kind
of built right on the edge of a mountain and to what I could see is a massive
tourist destination. It has a massive church perched right high up on a massive
piece of rock which is an amazing sight to see.

I headed for the docks to see a old steam ship that is being restored there
and after that the satnav was set up to get me out of town and onwards through
Slovenia and beyond.
Down at the docks the temp was a wonderful 19 Celsius but as I started
climbing the steep roads out of the city it began to get colder by the minute
and by the time I am out the city the temp has fallen to 11 Celsius. Heated
grips went ...
We departed Rome on time at 7.50am and had a pleasant rail trip to Venice Mestre station where we changed to a coach for the trip to Villach. Train got up to 250kph in places and there were lots of tunnels. The Coach was very comfortable and the scenery very interesting as we left the plain behind and headed into the mountains. It took about 3 hours to reach Villach and we did not have to wait long to get picked up by Betttina, our home exchange contact. She drove us ...
