On Tuesday we drove from our little hotel in Faistenau, through the alps and mountain passes across the country to Lienz. We took the scenic route through all the little towns, past little water falls and up roads which look like they were only ever intended to be used by horses. The flat has central heating so is very cosy, a living room-lounge-kitchen, a bedroom with a double bed!(seems like single after our king) and a bathroom etc. the view from the balcony down the lake is superb. So here we are, getting set for our 2014 Balkan Adventure. After 2 days of ferocious packing and cleaning, as we vacate what has been our Reception, Bar and Restaurant for the last six and a half years, we have collapsed in a heap pending some last minute personal packing and 'making ourselves look beautiful' preparations - so much to do, so little time!
