In the 13C, local bishops were given the status of 'Price-Bishops'by the ruling emporer. This made them not only a religious ruler but they also became head of the secular society and ...

... are allowed up the narrow tower at a time should have told me that it's a small space up top. You pay once you're at the top of the narrow spiral staircase, and then you have to climb a ladder to get outside for the real view. At the top of the ladder you squeeze through a tiny door (it's a little awkward) and then BAM you're outside and way above the main market square! ... our meals. Thanks to Lily we met some lovely people from the town seated at the next table. They helped us with the 5 varieties of snitzel on the menu, recommended a beer for Clint & dessert for the kids.

      Snitzel all around - delicious!

It was a lovely atmosphere & a great experience to stay in a smaller town rather than in the larger, more touristy ones.

We enjoyed the night, and no wifi.

... I walked a bit further and here he comes again right in my face, smoking and growling, I told Jen to move away and I told him forcibly to go away in German, which he is lucky he did. If any COPS are reading this he was a poofteenth away from a check drill. I think he was just the town dero, but he frightened Jen, we went into a cafe and he was gone. Took some photos then to the hotel for dinner and bed, off to Strasbourg ...
