... sun came out - for a while. Checked in at 2 and then went out again (after checking the internet worked).

Hallstatt was brilliant. We still managed to walk up more stairs - but worth it. And a lot of tourists around - lol. Here are a few descriptions of things from big boy travel.

... in Austria and they were basically the only type of chips available in the grocery store in Switzerland. They taste kind of like BBQ chips.

    ... the magnificent Grossglockner drive we head to Hallstatt a small authentic Austrian village perched on the edge of the lake. Pop 720 and the men dress in leather pants and Austrian ladies look like dolls in their traditional dresses……. except for the 3000 Japanese and American tourists it’s Austrian Fairy land.     ... up. Plus there was this very deep cave in which you looked down, but you are standing on a ledge, with a proper barrier, straight down. It was like one of those children's stories. The cave was discovered in 1910 and it is growing depending on the rain and melted snow. We came out above the entrance and walked 1 km through the cave.     ... churches we have been seeing, no high baroque, over the top alter pieces. The second church had the onion comb and sad up high. It had two sets of paintings on the outside ( very noticeable when approaching the town from the ferry). Inside it had two very ornate alter pieces, lovely stain glass, some very old paintings just below the organ and on some seats near the alter. What makes this church special is the 'charnel house'.
