The lady at the Pension has offered to do our laundry gratis, but we will pay her. ... to give our compliments to the office for the walk and organisation. Found a cafe open eventually for lunch. Amazing that so few were open as it was raining. Back to our hotel where we have the same room we had when we stayed before the walk. Overall, this was an excellent walk that had something different to offer on each day, some days harder than others, all the accommodation and meals were great and luggage transfers worked perfectly. ... Town of Hallstätt is directly below and the end of the lake is surrounded by mountains. Could see where we have to go tomorrow, but just enjoyed the view. Had lunch at the restaurant here to make the most of the outlook. Got the funicular down into town and walked along to the old part, said to be the oldest town in the world at over 5000 years old. ... very nice. Town is on a river, flowing with the most lovely clear water. Crossed over to look at the summer palace of the Habsburgs (of Česky Krümlov and Vienna fame) but there looked to be a photo shoot happening of the local fire brigade.
