Quiet day today, as we decided to stay on board not do the 2 optional day tours. Two thirds of the passengers left at Linz on coaches to either Salzburg or Cesky Krumlov and will meet us in Passau. ... This morning we travelled 25 miles and 75 minutes by train through the Sumava National Park to Nova Pec, which is very close to the German border. Our day of biking began there. The first 8 or so miles were through the forest which after awhile became a bit boring. Not much to see, other than trees and a bike path.
