... and industry from from the 14th to the 16th centuries. it was also the capital of the Upper Panatinate until 1810. at that time it was considered one of the strongest fortified towns in medieval Germany. in 1796 the Austrians defeated the French here leaving prominate buildings still standing: town hall, the ducal castle and the electoral palace (see pics)

... remains and thru the market. was a fun down in the drizzly rain. i bought a scarf at the market, an awesome Italian coffee at the ice cream cafe and a pizza lunch at the local Italian restaurant. an Italian day in Bavaria! how much culture could one get in a day?

Count Johann von Pfalz-Neumarkt established the seat of his government here, and began to develop the city into a residency. ... we toured Velburg, the next town over from Parsburg. a quaint little place, nothing fancy, but interesting architecture and beautiful flowers. we walked a loop thru town admiring the well kept homes.

tonight was a big night in Parsburg for the Volkfest. we are not 100% sure what the significance of the fest is...seems to be a celebration of beer. 2 bands playing back to back and a mini parade centered around the ...

today was business...grocery, post guest pass...stuff like that. we went into the local town of Parsberg. neat old city, very small, pretty flowers, old castle on the hill. we will go back for a longer visit later this week. we hit a german market that was totally cool. picked up some of my fav german snacks ...

... so I basiclly guided the horses. After that we went swimming. The pool there had a way better water slide then the MAC, so klara and I did it like ten times and little Luisa also went into the pool. She is only 1 1/2 so it was really good.

... br>guys we were not to mention our awesome bbqing skills we graciously
complied. Once we started the grill Finni showed up with all kinds
of different food that we needed to throw on the grill, we had the
biggest meal we have had in a long time. After our supper we sat
around, drank some great beer, and talked, and played with Hannah and
Ella for a while. Then we went back to Finni's and went to bed.

Day 11



Today we started off the day around 9am
with the plan to go to skyline skypark (german carowinds). It was
the perfect day too! The sky was clear and the temperature while
being a little cold was still better than cloudy and rainy. When we
got ready and headed downstairs finni had made us breakfast (of
course) and lunch for later that day. So we had some breakfast,
grabbed our stuff and headed out ...
