    ... Viking before coming to Scenic. Before that she worked as accountant for 10 years for only €200 / month. She said the money on the ship is much better, though Viking paid double to what Scenic does and she felt Viking are the better ships. We said that ocean liners have a bad reputation for paying poorly and having bad conditions for crew. She said this was true but the river cruisers pay much better wages and the conditions are better eg include health cover etc ...

    ... digital cameras are great. The duds don't cost money unlike the film system of old!

    The return ride down the mountain was enjoyed by all arriving safely I the square. Time had got away on us, so we decided not to do the Miniature Train Tour. Back to the hotel to pack and on the bike path by 11 am.

    ... from the terrace was wonderful, lush rolling hills, wooded areas then the snow capped alps! We had the equivalent of a plough mans lunch, the produce was from the farm or local farmers. We had home made bread, a very tasty potato spread, different meats and cheeses.plus about five different ciders. A very enjoyable few hours we would have happily stayed. When we returned to the bus I went for a bike ride along the river. It was really interesting as everyone was out ...
