... the ski hire place in our little town and asked about hiring skis for me and a snowboard for Ben. It seems like its really cheap here it was only 12 euros to hire for half a day. There are plenty of little ski slopes around here with their own ski lifts which are apparently very cheap to use. There is no big ski resort in this area with lots of slopes, but it seems it will be good for us to pick it up again here because its not so steep. Hopefully we can do that ...
Once we went to leave the castle we got a lift down in a small train/ lift which went down the face of the cliff. It was much easier than walking up, but there was not as good a view! That set us down back in the old town and we walked through it again and found a restaurant for dinner. ... reached the base of it; no wonder it was never able to have been taken over by force! Also, once on top, it feels like you're in another small village. Apparently when the city would be attacked, the people would take refuge in the fort and live life normally, complete with running water. We were also able to take a tour explaining the history of the fort as well as seeing some incredible views of the city below ...
