    So, after all the waiting we did, we are actually in Germany! The plane wasn't very comfortable, and a couple of us were forced into seats that didn't recline (making sleeping hard, painful work) but we didn't crash and burn, so thats a plus! But anyway, we're in Germany now! A new country and continent! This is really cool for those of us who have never been out of the country before! Well, I guess that's all that has happened so far.     ... a taxi to Landstuhl and got a room at a great hotel next to the train station. Parker got to have some beloved schnitzel for dinner and we got our train tickets ready for tomorrow. Leaving here early to get to Heidelberg castle and then about a 4hr train to Paris for the evening. The end! ...

    ... on a growth spurt and is now taller than his mother and Madison. He is a wrestler and is looking forward to high school in Sacramento, Ca where they will be moving in a few days. Unfortunately Ken was TDY in CONUS so we did not get to see him.
    It was wonderful to see our old friends there. They treated us royally. We were sad when we had to say good by at the Landstuhl Bahnhof as we boarded the train at 2230hrs for the all night train to Prague.

    ... it wouldn’t work because of a power cut. Isi managed to get Spring Tide’s bow right up to the wall and John got off over the bow on to a small ledge leading to some steps. He went over to the lock and tried the tannoy but it didn’t work, then the blue pole that normally kicks off the lock working, but nothing! He then did the red pole which is the alarm to say it is broken and there is a problem, but again nothing. In the meantime Isi ...

    ... trip which I'm SO excited for! On Monday of our second week I officially canceled my reservation at Carl Duisberg Haus and moved into the 2 bedroom flat with Alfonzo and Ashley. I've been on the hunt for an air mattress I can borrow, but so far no luck, so my next option was to buy an inflatable pool loung/floaty to sleep on (obviously right?). It's definitely not comfortable but I'm saving lots of money and I'm a hard sleeper, so far it hasn't effected my life too ...
