First few days in Bolzano

... whole thing.

Last night the student association UniParty had a `Rookie Party` in the basement of the museum. This was a lot of fun! Apparently the student associations, which are like clubs in Canada, organize lots of events.

As for school, we just had the info session on how to sign up for classes today, a day after they started! I`ll have to take care of that tomorrow. There aren`t that many classes to choose from though, because only a third are in English and only ...

First stop of many!!!

... The open the door and sit down and begin to question this guy. I have my music playing so I was not really paying attention but I figure this guy has no documents with him. He appears to be fluent in German and wrote down his name, date of birth, phone number and maybe where he originated from. I could kind of hear them talking about some of the places this guy came from but I am not really sure what he did. They got off at the next ...

... talking some real dumb trash (“Giants you need the refs,” and after touchdowns screaming obscenities at us and asking us where the refs were now) which indicates to that he thinks he’s some kind of good player. I’ll be generous and say he is on his best day, a very mediocre quarterback, the kind of QB that if he doesn’t open his mouth you don’t have problem with but when he does- well I felt it was my responsibility to put ...

... out some paddle boats which was good fun.
Everyone had a great time at the wedding, weather was brilliant. John was so hungry he even ate a flower, plate decoration and Orla tried to steal the show with her drunken antics.
On our last day in Malcesine we went to the top of a really big hill in a cable car, seen some cows and snow, played some crazy golf at a really late hour and had a few drinks with our friends, the last for a while.

... was right up my ally. For the next race, we went to look at the horses but before we could get back and bet, the race started. I blame that one on Beppe.

The next race was the biggest of the day and I went crazy with my two euro bets and even summed up the courage to make a couple 4 euro bets. But I could feel victory in the air, it was palpable, it tasted sweet on my tongue.

The problem with my betting method is that I try call the horses that will ...

Dolphins and D-III Players

... I droppedback eyeing the rush, thinking about running when I realized that Piva was openon post-corner route.  I threw itjust as the pocket collapsed but it was under thrown to the inside, and #28 whowas beaten on the play got gifted an easy interception.  Playing quarterback you can feel therush, but you have to keep your eyes down field, and on that play I hadn't donethat.

I walked off shaking my head, just feeling flat, devoid ofenergy and emotion much like how ...

Bolzano Breezy's

... br>Additionally later that afternoon, I bought a newspaper so I could look at thearticle on our game.  After havingto leaf through pages and pages of youth soccer coverage and just about everyother sport you ever played in PE class, finally I found the American footballcoverage tucked safely in the rear of the sports section.  The article had action shots of Reggieand I, but what I found most shocking was a large photo of a topless woman onthe adjacent page.  Mind you thisis the ...

... touchdown pass (shocking).   We promptly came out and on the second play from scrimmage, I dropped back looked right, then came back left and dumped the ball off to a wide open Reggie Green swinging left who caught it, split the outside linebacker and corner, then bounced of the safety and went 60 yards to the house.   RE responded with another long drive, but missed a field goal as the quarter ended.  I was inserted at corner to cover their American on second and third and ...

... to the our free safety and stepped up on another receiver who had worked his way across the field. The quarterback pulled up, and tried to fit it to my man, throwing across his body toward the middle of the field. I had been anticipating the throw for a couple seconds and the physics of it made it near impossible pass. I sprinted left after it, laid out, and snatched the ball with both hands. I got mobbed, we took a knee, and the game was over.

Trento at last

... my way to the Welcome Office, dragging my bags, and cursing why I brought anything at all with every step. A ton of instructions and paperwork was set in front of me, but I was just focused on getting to my apartment and taking a hot shower, before going to sleep. I was lead to the university housing office, made a deposit of 250 Euro and then was given a key to my apartment. The post office serves a very large role in the local government and treasury, I ...
