... not. The waitress got every order wrong too. Left there about 9.30, had a stroll then back to pack. Off on the next leg tomorrow. This hotel has been fabulous. Friendly, helpful people, well appointed rooms, spotlessly clean. All linen and china is monogrammed. They even bought a toaster after I asked for toast the first morning and they didn't have one. One of the best we've stayed in for a while without being over the top expensive. ...

Still too full from lunch. Cool evening. Back to the hotel by 10 and bed soon after.

... at the beautiful Sistine chapel where Michelangelos artwork and amazing ceiling plasterworks was in view.. No photos were able to be taken here but Giovanni took a sneaky pic and got caught and we got kicked out. Luckily we were able to sneak back in and appreciate the beautiful works. The final part of our tour was St. Peter basilica which is always amazing to see again. We took pictures, visited the pope tombs and saw the magnificent statues. ...

    Barrea to Pescasseroli

A travel blog entry by heatherandjohn on May 29, 2015

... had mostly collapsed. It was still very scenic though. We saw a sounder of wild boar (I confess I looked up what the collective name for wild boar was) trotting not far from the path just as the thunder was starting to growl in the distance. As we got back to Pescasseroli, the rain started. Although John had been the one to look up the weather forecast, he hadn’t thought to pack his waterproof coat. We sheltered under a tree for a while but it was raining ...
