      ... we headed to our hotel. Ahem. Yes, you read that right. Difference number three - no more cabins with only a bed in them for me! We had a couple of hours to settle in before dinner prepared for us by the hotel staff. Each lunch and dinner consisted of pasta (prima) and meat (seconda), as well as dessert (dolce). Sense the theme in Italy? My favorite of all the meals was our last lunch before leaving for home - fresh homemade lasagna. Mmm! Mmm! Mmm!

      Back in sulmona. Car now getting repaired so with no car decided to go walkabout for a few days while weather hot. Thinking of going upto top of mountain tomorrow....       ... dad was a POW in this camp - he was definitely at Campo 57 near Udine, and many of the Australian POWs at Udine had been transported there via Sulmona. We had dinner in a small trattoria in the town centre, and then did a last lap of the town before packing our bags for Atrani.       Beatrice, the bar lady tony is so popular with grabbed me while walking past with Rosie and asked if tony could look at cooker for old lady. Went off in possey of old ladies to her house. Then he had to try to fix cooker with heard of women looking on.....after that Beatrice grabbed him and asked him to fix her washing machine switch.
