Train one hour out to varenna on lake como. Weather fine again, lake is clear n blue. Varenna is small village across from Bellagio. Very cute on hill side, ferry takes you across to other villages. We are staying at a hotel in the village square, bell chimes from 7am till 7pm we think, or hope, saw mellagio village on other side of lake today, it is a beautiful town, buildings ...
A visit to the Western side of Lake Como
... village reasonably close to Carcente so as to avoid the long drive back around the lake. Nightfall by 17.30 and we drove ' home' back up the hill in the darkness. The many colourful lights of towns and villages so very clear in the early night air.

Birthday celebrations in the mountains
Morning was cloudy and cool - about 4°. We went to breakfast at Muellers as it was Fides' birthday today. Great spread to start the day. Rang Omi and she also spoke with Fides and Andrea. She was pleased to hear we were having a great time with family.
Later Andrea joined us when we went with Fides and Jorg on a drive to two lakeside ...
Bellissimo Bellagio
... we would have had no chance of making it back to Andrea's house without her. Saw the old village square/piazza, community washing tub and a number of outstanding viewing points on different tracks about the village. Walked to the other end of the village where the second car park is and as it was now dark (approx 6pm) we then headed back along the alley ways to the Schenk residence. We went to the Mueller house while the hard working Andrea and Norbert had baths ...
