... that will hold ink - there is a tradition of writing love messages to Juliet, and visitors leave notes and trinkets.   Annie and I have already done this so we had a walk and a drink in a local cafe, then it was off to Venice.  If you listen carefully in the evening you can hear G & H calling from their window in the hotel ..Romeo Romeo....the girls are lots of fun and we spend a lot of time reminiscing and ...

After a relatively restful night, I get packed up again and head out to the breakfast room. It's very cute and they do a nice latte and the best croissant I've ever had. Sadly, there are only enough for one each and she doesn't appear prepared to bring out more, so I head back to my room. Day 274 3 hrs, 3 kms In the morning I go to check out the waterfall again. Not a very big waterfall--but a nice way to start out my morning. On the rocky shore of the river a group of young folks are camping out. Nice to see a few other folks enjoying the pleasure of sleeping out of doors (although admittedly my real motive is stinginess--not a love for sleeping under the stars!) It sound like there's a much higher waterfall up a bend in a slit like gorge--but I ...

Day 273 5 hrs, 10.4 kms Day Totals: 16 hrs, 37.4 kms I take a little detour to snag one more town today. As I wander through this frazione of Samolaco, a husky older gentleman greets me from outside his barn, my third interesting encounter of the day. He tells me about his life... growing up in the mountains here, spending much of his life out in the plains working, and now coming back to his home village. I guess that's the reality of these ...
