    We decided to go to Trier for the day so after a quick continental breakfast we set off for the train station which is a very short walk away. Trier is only 8 minutes away by train and the rule is, if there is no ticket machine at the station you pay on the train. If there is no guard/ticket inspector you travel for free. We like free!!
