... through the park, we made it to Lake Bled. Bled is a resort town that is touristy, yet tranquil & gorgeous! Our first order of business was laundry. Of course, now we find out that laundromats are few & far between in this country. So, rather than spend more than $100 to have the hotel to do (priced by the piece, not the load!), we decided to find ...

Today we picked up a rental car and headed for the mountains! As with many rentals, we got something bigger than we reserved because that was what they had...it's not too big though, and so far it has treated us well. Then a period of rest for the older boys, since another bus arrived at 3 pm to pick up Sam, Brady and Bryce for a Canyoning adventure. This involves being driven high up into the surrounding mountain park, and then coming down a narrow canyon by jumping into pools of water, sliding down slick stones, and using ropes to drop down more vertical rock faces. Sam was ...

... asphalt into shaded woodland, a welcome escape from the oppressive heat. It was around this time that I finally began to relax and found that in doing so, my horse had calmed a little too. As time went on, I also felt more confident in controlling his sudden movements, even when a crazy stallion in a nearby field started running towards us and neighing as if he was about to made into burgers (in Ljubljana, there was a fast food joint called Hot Horse whose main ingredient you can ...
