Actually it's a ******n rock, formed by water dripping through the ceiling for millennia and growing at 3 millimetres every hundred years.





We are in the world-renowned Postojne cave system in Central Slovenia and it truly is awesome, though trite references to camels and chickens are pretty unnecessary.

We all slowly fell in love with Slovenia, camping in the pine trees, swimming in the lake and chilling amongst the mountains. The campsite was full of Dutch teenagers making the most of the activities on offer on the raging river running past the campsite. ... on to Slovenia pretty quickly. And it was a great decision as we snaked our way through the mountains, the van coping admirably, with a new stunning vista around each corner. We headed to Bled and a campsite on the lake, but an avalanche of tourists for the Bled festival meant that it was completely full. ... at the bottom, we continued our walk around the lake until we reached a lookout point we were aiming to find. Tom had explained that there are two paths we could take to get to this lookout point and that one was about 25 minutes up a really steep hill with fallen trees due to a recent heavy rainstorm and the other path being about 45 minutes going around the mountain to get to the top.
