We were planning to go to Liechtenstein but thought we may as well as it was sort of on our way. It's the worlds 6 smallest country so it would have been rude not to go..haha.
We didn't drive to the main town but to another.. where really there wasn't anything. I did get a photo with the tourist sign though. Had to somehow prove I'd been there!
So yeah, continuing form the last post, we drove through Switzerland, and even made a stop in Liechenstein hahaha... We went to Vaduz, the capital, which is literally a quick right turn outside of Switzerland. We hung out for a bit and checke dout a couple ...

... main city) and the surrounding area, and then walked around the town.
The next day we went into St Gallen with Elsa. We walked around the old city, and visited their beautiful church and main shopping centres. In the eve Heinz cooked my favorite dinner ever – Roesti!! And we watched 'Inspector Rex'.
On Friday Elsa took us to a mountain up a gondola, and we went for a walk. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t the best – very ...
... Feldkirch I got lost. Actually I was just trying to get to McDonald's because the group wanted a bathroom break and the public toilets here were not to our standards. Anyway, I drove past the McDonald's twice - once my fault and once the navigator's - and drove down a pedestrian only section of road before we gave up and continued on our journey out of town and deeper into Austria.
Feldkirch, Austrian Alps, Austria travelingdiva... weren't too interested so they took Lincoln (who couldn't go with us) and we went to have a look. It was a rewarding visit. It is amazing to think how long ago some of those books and transcripts were written, and how well cared for they must be to remain in excellent condition. The library itself is breathtaking, with leather bound books lining the shelves, large windows (no doubt filtered), elaborate woodwork and staircases, and a muraled ceiling ...
St. Gallen, St. Gallen, Switzerland travelingdiva... and sit and read. We listen to the kids in the trampoline right across from us. We have listened to them from early morning until they come and close and lock the door on it. It is always filled with kids, no break in the yelling and screeching.
We go to the lake and have a look at the stars and lights across the water in Switzerland. There are people sitting out here and others further down the beach have made a campfire. What a great day!
... building, and the government building. This area looks very modern but blends well into the surrounding mountains and old houses and buildings.
It was a sunny day but a bit chilly. I decided the best way to warm up was to hike up to the castle. I started walking up a steep hill that I thought would lead me to the castle. It passed through a beautiful residential area and eventually ended at a trail head. Perfect! From there I ...
... monks built a monastery on the island and the city became a free city in 1274-75 which meant it had independent representation in the 'Reichstag' of the Holy Roman Empire. After the dissolution of the Holy Roman Empire, the town fell under the rule of Karl August von Bretzenheim, the elector of Pfalz and Bavaria, who in 1804 gave it to the Kingdom of Austria, which can't have been too pleased with the gift, for in 1805 ...
