      Day four saw another very relaxed morning including a walk down to the local Sunday markets which was very nice, however very very cold! Then we came back and had a lovely hot meal of pork spare ribs before heading off to Andy's daughter's place for a few hours in the afternoon.

      ... did not match Italy in that there was a lift up to the deck instead of dicky stairs, the toilets were clean and had detergent and hand dryers that worked, when you got to the other side it was not a free for all but you were let off in order. Then drove to Insel Mainau the garden Island, even though it's nearly winter, the gardens are gorgeous. Did some shopping in Konstance, great town, then back via the ferry to our Hotel, great day all around. Another day bit cloudy and cold ...

      We arrived in Lindau fron Strasbourg on Thursday. Lindau, the old town, is an island off the northeast shore of the Bodensee connected to the mainland by a bridge. We are staying right on the inner harbour and on a clear day can see Bergenz, Austria and the Swiss alps behind. This is where Germany, Austria and Switzerland all meet. Lindau is in Germany.

      ... took a walk to see what was there - up hill and down dale but I digress - with a wild boar and piglets on display. I thought they were kinda cute but Rach wasn’t so sure. Back down the cable car to collect our bikes and take a quick detour through the old town - and a tea/strudel break!
