... read the menu as best she could in English and finally recommended the beef steak in cognac with potatoes...she actually kissed her fingers and held them to heaven like the Italians do! That was enough for us, we all ate that for dinner!

Don and Cindy are making really good Rick Steve's participants, and Andrea called them "virgins" tonight! Don could hardly believe it...he said "I have been called a lot of things but never that!"...everyone laughed!
Tomorrow is a long tour day...up and out by 8:00 and back to the hotel at 6:30. Time for bed!

The Chaffin's and Sterling's each have had times in our married lives when one or both of the spouses was ready to strangle the other because of either incorrect (never intentional) map reading or frankly, just surprised situations while traveling by car. With Finn fighting a tear back in jubilation (I am being genuine here...!) we slowly found our way to Speyer and then onto Germersheim where we waited to be greeted by an extremely passive, moody host who showed us to our camp - the home of many rabbits who seemed strangely indifferent to our arrival.
Dinner was a primitive risotto using some soup powder we found at Lidl - strangely our best homemade meal yet!
