... where we met the guy from our original round, the cheery bus driver. We travelled back to the campsite and within 40 seconds of disembarking, I realised we had no camera. I'd had it last, taking pix on the bus and had obviously just set it down on the seat..... Drama!! So I went straight to reception to ask for help and (cut a long story short) the lovely older lady called tourist info who then called the bus company. The plan was to wait an hour and a half ...

    Breakfast in the Alps

We were woken at half 4 by rain and thunder so we brought Prego in. We dropped back off to sleep before being awoken again at 6ish by another storm. It's hard to believe it didn't actually soak the van, considering the noise! Up early, woken by a young blackbird who'd stumbled onto the dashboard then the footwell! Jon helped him out with my hat and he flew away unscathed. A lazy breakfast and showers then up to the bus stop for a wander around St Anton am Arlberg, 6km away. After the Hahntennjoch Pass we continued West to Warth then South to our destination at Lech, a mountain village and exclusive ski resort. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lech_(V orarlberg) The evening meal was in the Cable Car Resturant where we had a traditional Austrian cheese ...

... we both got it into our heads we were going to break down next to a sheer drop on the side of a mountain. Not cool! We arrived, both pretty shaken, at the wonderful Arlberglife Camping, ACSI 956 (v posh facilities, pay for electric, free wifi, oodles of leaflets. Oh yeah, and the small point about panoramic views of mountains!) We chose a pitch and had a cup of tea and a pot noodle, just to calm down! Ummmmmmmm, if it turns out Austria's not for us, we gotta ...
