... back to the train ticketing office, waited in line again, lucked out by getting the same agent and had her reissue us round trip tickets for only 4 Francs more. (Yes, that’s right….Swiss Francs, as Switzerland is not technically part of the EU and does not uses Euros for currency.) Once all was said and done we had the proper tickets, boarded a train immediately and were on our way.

... The busabout guide told us more souvenir shops per capita than anywhere else in the world. Shoppers paradise? Only if you are into cow bells, Swiss Army knives & Swiss watches. The Asian tourists go mad for watches. We are told bus loads come from everywhere just to buy Swiss watches. The most expensive we see in the window is 84000 francs which is over 84 thousand Australian dollars. We have lunch at hooters, yep you heard right. Grant is fondued out from the cheese ...

First there was Boza (Bos-zha) of Appenzell. She and her husband Franz, his brother Hans and her son Clemens run the Adler hotel. Boza has three sons and is this zesty, fit, amazingly energetic blossom in the midst of these men. She is in her early 60s ...all size 2 of her. She bonded with each of us and we enjoyed her a great deal.

... view is well worth it!!

We explored the inner ice caves and the plateau on the peak for amazing photos and great fun. It was a little chilly at 5.6 degrees but warm in the sun :) after our exploring it was back for a dinner of chicken with creamy mushroom sauce with potato Rosti - delicious and the food is MUCH better than I expected! A few local beers with tea and it was in for an early night!

Last night I thought it would be better to reserve seats on the train as the first part was a 3 hour trip so off I went at 0800 this morning to do just that. I hadn't done it before as they could not guarantee that we would be facing in the direction that the train would be traveling. Daniella and I both get motion sickness.
