Stunning view right on the lake. The doors from the room open our to hear the waves, it's beautiful. Very friendly staff that speak English and the breakfast are great.

Just when we thought Venice was the most beautiful place we would visit in Italy, Varenna may have beaten it into second place. Neither of us can get our heads round the fact that we are actually seeing what's around us. The apartment is amazing and the views from the balcony alone are worth the trip. Claire has also befriended a blind cat so we keep having to think of excuses to go and see the lady so Claire can rub the cat.

... the same question. Well with partners in crime... Why not?? We climbed the fence and absolutely enjoyed the path that we had entirely to ourselves. There was a bit of a landslide that we had to traverse, but definitely nothing life threatening. We didn't even encounter any trail police! We spent a lot of time down on the rocks enjoying the spray from the ocean. The fall weather was enticing, and the plethora of color in the trees was breathtaking. I very ...

We had the obligatory coffee all round before the others drove off to their starting point. I wandered along the waterfront promenade. Again beautiful scenery. Abundant bird life and catch a couple of Italians taking their grandmother for a walk.

I also visited the local cemetery. It seem unusual as ...
